AMARAVATI — The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority has approved a comprehensive proposal to issue a Request for Proposal to design a massive development plan for the Amaravati Economic Region.

The decision, taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday, aims to expand the financial footprint of the capital zone across nine surrounding districts from Eluru to Prakasam.

The capital authority also cleared the formation of a dedicated special tribunal to fast-track and resolve disputes related to unauthorized constructions and building violations inside the capital limits.

In a series of major fiscal and infrastructural clearances, the authority sanctioned ₹548 crore explicitly for the construction of the Andhra Pradesh High Court buildings and its foundational infrastructure.

To modernise local utilities, the board approved the setup of an independent fire control system capable of issuing safety clearances and cleared a City Gas Distribution network to be built via public-private partnerships or joint venture execution models.

Additionally, the government decided to cancel an existing agreement with Saudi Arabian firm Tabreed for a localized district cooling system, opting instead to invite completely fresh global competitive bids to ensure better efficiency.
