AMARAVATI: Describing the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls as a crucial exercise, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed party workers to approach the process with absolute seriousness.

Addressing a state-level workshop at the TDP headquarters on Tuesday, Naidu emphasized that accurate voter database management serves as the foundational core of election strategy and planning, making this exercise an essential test of the party's grassroots organizational strength.

The Chief Minister noted that the SIR exercise is a rare administrative process that occurs only once every two to three decades, with the current phase being executed using the 2002 electoral rolls as a foundational reference point.

With voter mapping scheduled to be conducted twice before the crucial July 14 deadline, Naidu ordered the rank and file to remain highly vigilant and eliminate any room for negligence.

He asserted that while registering to vote is a fundamental civic duty for every individual citizen, political parties bear the primary responsibility of driving widespread public awareness regarding voter enrollment.
