AMARAVATI — The meteorological department on Sunday warned that erratic weather patterns across Andhra Pradesh will likely continue for the next few days. Several areas are experiencing a simultaneous combination of high heat and sudden localized thunderstorms.

This dual weather condition has disrupted daily life, with temperatures crossing normal limits in some districts while others receive sudden downpours.

Meteorologists attribute this shifting pattern to lower-tropospheric winds blowing from the southerly and southwesterly directions over the state.

These winds are drawing intense moisture from the Bay of Bengal, which collides with the high daytime heat over the landmass. This interaction triggers convective clouds, leading to lightning, gusty winds, and short spells of heavy rain.
