AMARAVATI — The Andhra Pradesh government has sanctioned a massive ₹920-crore financial infrastructure package to the combined Prakasam district. The major capital infusion aims to overhaul crucial rural road networks and develop primary agricultural irrigation over the next three years.

Channeled under the Integrated Horticultural Development Project (IHDP), the funding will focus on both the Prakasam and Markapuram administrative regions alongside crucial segments of the Rayalaseema belt.

Social Welfare Minister Dr. Dola Sri Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy officially announced the strategic allocation, noting that the infrastructural intervention will fast-track the transport of agricultural yields.

By replacing deteriorating rural pathways with modern all-weather corridors, the state intends to establish the region as a primary commercial center for perishable crops.

Alongside internal agrarian road widening, the investment priorities include critical phase expansions and rehabilitation works across the Veligonda Phase-II, Korisapadu Reservoir, and Paleru Reservoir networks.
