AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh government has clamped down heavily on the promotion of alcohol by completely banning all advertisement boards, hoardings, flex banners, and other marketing materials at liquor outlets and bars across the state.
Announcing the strict measure on Tuesday, Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra stated that the move is part of the government's comprehensive initiative to ensure stringent regulation of liquor promotion and curtail its public visibility.
The decisive step follows a series of resolutions adopted during a recent top-level review meeting of the state's Excise Department. To fast-track the implementation, the Excise Minister has instructed Excise Commissioner Chamakuri Sridhar to mobilize ground forces and ensure the absolute removal of these commercial displays immediately.
District-level enforcement authorities, including Assistant and Deputy Commissioners, have already been armed with executive guidelines to execute the prohibition uniformly across every district.
