AMARAVATI — Andhra Pradesh recorded an all-time high revenue performance in May 2026, with total state tax collections increasing 19 percent year-on-year. Total collections for the month reached 4,950 crore rupees, up significantly from the 4,165 crore rupees generated during the corresponding month last year.

Official data released by Chief Commissioner of State Tax Babu A. indicates that the additional revenue windfall of 737 crore rupees stems from robust regional economic expansion and tight anti-evasion compliance measures across multiple industrial and commercial sectors.

Net Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections alone climbed to 3,037 crore rupees, a clear 16 percent leap from the 2,629 crore rupees posted in May 2025.

This domestic tax growth rate places Andhra Pradesh well ahead of the national net GST average expansion of 6 percent for the same processing cycle. Within the southern economic corridor, the state secured the second-highest growth position, tracking immediately behind Karnataka’s 17 percent expansion rate.
