VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh has achieved a major milestone by becoming the first state in the country to release dedicated operational guidelines for urban infrastructure projects executed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
Issued through G.O.Rt. No.673, the newly introduced "Urban Infrastructure PPP Guidelines" will come into effect immediately across all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), Urban Development Authorities (UDAs), and other state agencies operating under the Municipal Administration & Urban Development (MA&UD) Department.
This comprehensive policy reform forms a core component of the state's Swarna Andhra Vision 2047, which aims to transform Andhra Pradesh into a USD 2 trillion economy with a per capita income of USD 42,000.
With more than 30% of Andhra Pradesh's population currently urbanised, the state faces an estimated infrastructure fiscal gap of ₹45,000 crore.
The newly introduced framework is specifically designed to bridge this deficit by mobilising private capital and alleviating pressure on essential civic infrastructure, including housing, water supply, sewerage, solid waste management, and urban mobility.
