AMARAVATI — The Bapatla district police administration has officially launched its "No Helmet, No Fuel" enforcement campaign on a pilot basis to significantly reduce severe casualties resulting from two-wheeler accidents.
The initiative initially covers critical geographical pockets, including Bapatla Town, Bapatla Rural, Vedullapalli, and Karlapalem police station limits, with plans for subsequent expansion.
Bapatla district Superintendent of Police B. Umamaheswara announced the operational launch, stating that wearing a helmet must be approached as an individual and social responsibility rather than an administrative burden or a mere legal formality to escape financial penalties.
Statistics compiled by regional transport departments consistently indicate that head injuries are the primary cause of death in more than 75 percent of fatal motorcycle accidents across the state.
