HYDERABAD: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday conducted raids at multiple locations in connection with the Andhra Pradesh mining case involving former director of Mines and Geology VG Venkata Reddy and others accused of large-scale financial irregularities.

ED officials carried out extensive searches across seven locations, which included three sites in Hyderabad, as well as one location each in Jaipur and Coimbatore, to gather evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.

The federal agency's move follows an earlier operation by the Andhra Pradesh Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), which arrested VG Venkata Reddy for allegedly committing irregularities and misappropriating government property valued at approximately ₹2,556 crore.

According to investigators, Venkata Reddy allegedly entered into a criminal conspiracy with several private corporations, including Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited (JPVL), Prathima Infrastructures Pvt Ltd, and GCKC Projects, among others.

He stands accused of abusing his official position to dishonestly allow these companies to misappropriate government funds in anticipation of receiving undue benefits.
