VIJAYAWADA: Despite drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors annually, the historically significant Manginapudi Beach continues to languish in a state of chronic administrative apathy.

Situated just 11 kilometers from Machilipatnam, this scenic shoreline serves as a primary coastal gateway for tourists from the capital region of Amaravati and neighboring Telangana, particularly Hyderabad.

However, a severe deficit in basic civic infrastructure is preventing the site from realizing its true economic potential as a world-class coastal destination.

Visitors arriving at the beach frequently voice frustrations regarding the absolute absence of essential public conveniences, including functional toilets, dedicated changing rooms, rest sheds, and clean drinking water facilities.

While once a thriving hub featuring manicured landscapes and children's play zones, the beach's infrastructure has never fully recovered since being devastated by the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami.

For over two decades, successive developmental master plans have yielded very little on-the-ground progress, making it a stark symbol of official neglect.
