VIJAYAWADA: In a major development in the investigation into the alleged multi-crore liquor scam during the previous YSRCP regime, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) carried out raids on the residence of K Nageswara Reddy (KNR) on Thursday.

KNR is the former personal assistant of former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

During the searches, the team seized several documents related to various properties registered under the name of KNR, his family members, and others.

The raids followed a rigorous second consecutive day of interrogation at the SIT office in Vijayawada, where KNR was grilled by officials for more than six hours.

According to police sources, large-scale irregularities were identified on the very first day of questioning. Investigators allege that KNR acted as a crucial intermediary between the liquor syndicate operations and the former Chief Minister throughout the entire episode.
