PUTTAPARTHI — The Sri Sathya Sai district administration has initiated an aggressive operational strategy to eliminate the transport, sale, and consumption of illicit narcotics.
District Collector A. Shyam Prasad directed multi-departmental teams to utilize advanced surveillance technologies and field-level enforcement to establish a completely drug-free zone across all municipalities and villages.
Under the new directives, law enforcement agencies are deploying advanced mobile drug-testing kits capable of detecting narcotics consumption within a 30-day window. This field-level diagnostic capability allows personnel to instantly verify suspect cases on-site, accelerating legal processing and deterrence.
The monitoring protocol also mandates immediate preventive action, including formal bond-down proceedings, against individuals with prior histories of drug offenses.
The enforcement drive specifically targets local supply chains and distribution networks. Authorities confirmed that unauthorized rural liquor counters, locally known as belt shops, face immediate closure to disrupt the localized network often tied to broader contraband rings.
Educational institutions and prominent public squares are being placed under heightened observation, alongside coordinated awareness campaigns designed to shield vulnerable youth from trafficking networks.
