AMARAVATI — Andhra Pradesh has secured a major national breakthrough by becoming the first state in India to operationalize an industrial partnership under the central government's new ₹60,000 crore flagship skilling initiative.

The National Steering Committee, led by the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, officially cleared the strategic investment plan for the Visakhapatnam Industrial Training Institute (ITI) cluster during its high-level meeting in New Delhi.

The approved modernization plan will run on an industry-led hub-and-spoke model designed to overhaul traditional vocational education.

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India will take charge as the anchor industry partner, collaborating with the New Age Makers Institute of Technology to redesign technical courses, upgrade lab infrastructure, and align training directly with market demands.
