VISAKHAPATNAM — Andhra Pradesh has become the first state in India to operationalize an industry-led partnership under the Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs (PM-SETU) scheme.
The National Steering Committee, operating under the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, officially cleared the Strategic Investment Plan for the Visakhapatnam Industrial Training Institute cluster during a high-level meeting in New Delhi.
The approved modernization plan was jointly submitted by industrial partner ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India and the New Age Makers Institute of Technology.
This joint initiative marks the very first Strategic Investment Plan to receive formal approval under the nationwide PM-SETU framework.
The project will deploy an industry-driven hub-and-spoke model to revamp vocational training infrastructure and bring curriculum directly in line with contemporary manufacturing requirements.
