VISAKHAPATNAM: The Greater Visakhapatnam Citizens’ Forum (GVCF) has raised significant environmental concerns regarding the proposed hyperscale data centre project situated near the eco-sensitive pockets of Adavivaram and Mudasarlova.

Concurrently, the civic body has strongly appealed to the district administration and port authorities to roll out immediate, stringent interventions to combat the worsening coal dust pollution plaguing residential neighborhoods across the city.

"Conventional methods like periodic water sprinkling are no longer sufficient for a rapidly growing industrial hub. Advanced, globally proven dust suppression technologies must be made standard practice in Visakhapatnam."

Expanding Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Stations (CAAQMS) across multiple industrial zones instead of relying on limited tracking setups, alongside a public-facing dashboard.
