VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Department has advised farmers to use fertilizers judiciously and strictly in accordance with soil test recommendations, citing growing concerns over the ongoing West Asia crisis and the resulting spike in international prices for agricultural inputs.
In an official press release, Agriculture Department Director Manazir Jeelani Basha requested farmers to transition to balanced fertilizer application practices.
He emphasized that doing so would ensure healthy crop growth, promote the efficient use of national resources, and preserve long-term soil sustainability.
Rather than using conventional blanket applications, fertilizers should only be applied based on scientific soil test analyses. This method will actively help farmers lower their total cultivation costs, improve nutrient uptake efficiency, and maintain optimal soil health.
