VIJAYAWADA: Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu announced on Thursday that the Andhra Pradesh State government is giving top priority to resolving issues impacting aquaculture and ensuring its long-term sustainability through transparent policies and strict quality monitoring.

Addressing a videoconference organized by the Fisheries Department, Minister Atchannaidu said the government has comprehensively heard the concerns and suggestions of aqua farmers, feed manufacturers, exporters, and industry representatives.

The discussions covered vital pain points such as rising shrimp feed prices, a shortage of raw materials, increasing cultivation costs, and export-related challenges.

The Minister observed that the sudden spike in feed prices during the ongoing summer crop season could severely affect farmers. Concurrently, the feed manufacturing industry is facing deep pressure due to the escalating costs of raw materials.

He assured stakeholders that the government would formulate balanced decisions to protect farmers' livelihoods without harming the survival and growth of the feed industry.
