NEW DELHI: India and Canada have officially launched a trade and investment forum aimed at bringing together business communities from both countries to drive commercial engagement and foster new corporate partnerships, according to a joint statement.

The announcement followed a three-day official visit (May 25–27, 2026) by India’s Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal to Canada. During his visit, Mr. Goyal held an extensive series of meetings with top business leaders and engaged in bilateral discussions with Canada's Minister of International Trade, Maninder Sidhu.

The newly established Canada-India Trade and Investment Forum will serve as a premier platform to accelerate economic cooperation.

"The Ministers launched the Canada-India Trade and Investment Forum as a key platform that brings together Canadian and Indian business leaders and fosters new commercial partnerships and increased business engagement,"the joint statement noted.
