ONGOLE: The Ongole Urban Development Authority (OUDA) launched a massive, special drive targeting unauthorized layouts and real estate ventures under its jurisdiction on Tuesday.
Acting on the direct orders of OUDA Vice-Chairman and Prakasam district Joint Collector Kalpana Kumari, enforcement officials cleared 25 illegal layouts across the combined Prakasam district in a single day.
According to authorities, there are hundreds of unapproved ventures operating within OUDA limits, and the administration plans to tackle them in successive phases.
In Kanigiri, local MLA Ugra Narasimha Reddy and OUDA Chief Sk Riyaz identified nearly 100 illegal ventures, 40 of which were concentrated around the Kanigiri mandal alone.
Utilizing JCB heavy machinery, enforcement teams systematically demolished boundary stones, plots, and compound walls in 14 of those layouts.
