AMARAVATI — Construction of the State Institute of Hotel Management campus at Uppada in Kakinada district is moving into its final stages. Officials confirmed that the facility will be fully operational by August 2026.

The project aims to establish a world-class training center for the hospitality and tourism sectors in the region.

Local administrative bodies and tourism department officials have increased monitoring to ensure the deadline is met.

The campus will feature modern classrooms, advanced training kitchens, mock hotel suites, and high-tech laboratories. This infrastructure will support specialized degree and diploma programs in catering technology, hotel administration, and culinary arts.

The initiative aligns with the government's broader strategy to position the state as a major tourism hub. By creating a skilled workforce locally, the institute expects to bridge the current employment gap in luxury hotels and resorts across Southern India.

Recruiters from major domestic and international hospitality chains are expected to participate in the inaugural campus placement drives later this year.
