NEW DELHI: Responding to critical challenges emanating from the conflict-hit Persian Gulf and escalating tensions in the South China Sea, the Quad grouping has pledged to dramatically enhance cooperation in the maritime and energy domains.

At the 11th Quad Foreign Ministers' meeting held in New Delhi, Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, alongside his counterparts from Australia (Penny Wong), Japan (Toshimitsu Motegi), and the United States (Secretary of State Marco Rubio), launched major initiatives aimed at bolstering energy security, maritime surveillance, and domain awareness.

These measures are designed to optimize emergency operations and humanitarian responses at sea.
