GUNTUR: Surgeries have officially commenced at the newly set up Mother and Child Super Speciality Block of the Government General Hospital (GGH) in Guntur.

This milestone brings advanced, corporate-level treatment facilities entirely free of charge for pregnant women, newborns, and children under one roof, with two successful surgeries performed on its inaugural day.

Built at a combined cost of ₹127 crore, the 600-bed Dr. Kanuri–GMCANA Mother and Child Care Super Speciality Block features state-of-the-art medical infrastructure.

The Guntur Medical College Alumni Association of North America (GMCANA) contributed ₹100 crore toward the construction, while the Andhra Pradesh State government provided ₹27 crore for advanced medical equipment and high-tech machinery.
