HYDERABAD: Jana Sena Party (JSP) president and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan made a dramatic announcement on Tuesday, declaring that his party is fully committed to expanding its political footprint and will definitely contest the 2029 Telangana Assembly elections.

Speaking at a high-pitched press conference from his Jubilee Hills residence, the actor-politician turned a recently denied public meeting in Gachibowli into a major political flashpoint, firmly asserting that the JSP has no intention of retreating from Telangana's political landscape.

The JSP chief leveled sharp criticism against the ruling Congress party, accusing its leadership of employing divisive rhetoric and aiming to create unnecessary rifts among the public.

Coinciding with the Telangana Formation Day celebrations, Pawan Kalyan targeted his detractors for opposing his political entry into the state "tooth and nail" and questioned how they could ethically bar him when historical icons like Indira Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and P.V. Narasimha Rao had seamlessly contested elections outside their home states.

In a notable rhetorical shift, he praised Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) founder K. Chandrashekhar Rao while completely avoiding any direct reference to his current alliance partner, the BJP.
