AMARAVATI — A major political storm has erupted across Andhra Pradesh as thousands of job aspirants and opposition party members took to the streets on Monday.

The coordinated protests, organized by the youth wing of the state’s primary opposition party, targeted district collectorates across the state.

Demonstrators are alleging systemic corruption, manipulation of quotas, and lack of transparency in the recently concluded teacher recruitment examination, commonly referred to as the District Selection Committee or Mega DSC process.

The unrest intensified following serious allegations that government selection rules were deliberately bent to favor specific individuals.

Protest leaders in regions like Vijayawada, Nellore, and Visakhapatnam accused authorities of manipulating recruitment under the sports quota by issuing tailored government guidelines that were later quietly withdrawn.

Activists claim that nearly 350,000 applicants who dedicated months to preparing for these positions have been disenfranchised due to non-transparent selection procedures, including the sudden removal of final merit lists from official public portals.
