AMARAVATI — The Telugu Desam Party is preparing to secure three of the four upcoming Rajya Sabha seats from Andhra Pradesh, with plans to allocate the remaining seat to its alliance partner, the Jana Sena Party.

The legislative math heavily favors the ruling alliance, which holds a commanding majority of 164 members in the 175-seat State Assembly. This numerical dominance ensures that the coalition will sweep all four vacancies during the polling scheduled for June 18.

Internal deliberations have intensified within the regional party as numerous senior leaders lobby for the parliamentary nominations. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is currently evaluating regional, caste, and loyalty equations before finalizing the candidates.

Speculation is growing within political circles that the third national coalition partner, the Bharatiya Janata Party, may not receive a seat from the state quota during this round of biennial elections.
