AMARAVATI — The Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh has defended the integrity of the recent Mega District Selection Committee teacher recruitment conducted under the sports quota.

Officials stated that the selection process followed a strict multi-level verification system designed to eliminate external interference.

The clarification comes after opposition parties raised questions regarding the qualifications of some selected candidates.

According to state sports officials, the system operated entirely online to evaluate the three percent horizontal reservation policy for meritorious sportspersons.

A total of 421 teacher positions were allocated under this specialized quota out of the larger recruitment drive.

The state sports body emphasized that it did not issue or authenticate the sports certificates. Instead, it forwarded every document directly to the respective sports federations, associations, and universities to verify authenticity before calculating merit.
