NEW DELHI: Senior diplomat Vipul, an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer of the 2002 batch, has been officially appointed as India's next Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Currently serving as the Ambassador of India to Qatar, Vipul is expected to take up his new assignment in Riyadh shortly, succeeding the outgoing envoy to further elevate the strategically vital partnership between the two nations.
The appointment comes at a crucial juncture as India and Saudi Arabia continue to expand their multifaceted bilateral relations, spanning energy security, defense, trade, and technology.
Under the framework of the India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council (SPC), both nations have actively collaborated on deep-rooted economic initiatives and critical security operations in the Gulf region.
Vipul’s extensive diplomatic experience is expected to play a pivotal role in accelerating these ongoing high-level engagements.
